National Victories for Affordable Housing and Homeless Prevention

President Obama has signed into law the Helping Families Save Their Homes Act of 2009 which will immediately provide protections for renters living in foreclosed properties! Additionally, RI's own Senator Jack Reed's HEARTH bill, which will help communities reduce homelessness across the country, was part of this anti-foreclosure act that was signed. Both of these components will help Rhode Island greatly!!

We will continue to push for additional foreclosure protection here in Rhode Island and we still need to work to restore NOP but we should stop for a moment and savor this wonderful victory!!  We should also thank Senator Reed for his leadership!
