Outflow Data
The numbers displayed below represent the most current data in the Rhode Island Continuum of Care (CoC) Homeless Management Information System, or HMIS. The HMIS is used to collect data related to demographic, program enrollment and service delivery for Rhode Islander's who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness. Please keep in mind that some program utilization rates have been impacted by COVID-19.

The number of days people experiencing homelessness are waiting for housing on the "Housing Queue" is represented above. Individuals are active on the queue for a minimum of 90 days, or longer if they are engaged in services with a homeless service provider.
This number includes those currently waiting for housing as well as those that have been active on the queue over the last 12 months
The table above details how many people exited the system and to what destination types over the last week. A few examples of destination types for each exit category would be; "homeless situations" such as an emergency shelter, or a place not meant for habitation. "Temporary destinations" such as a hotel or motel room not being paid by an emergency shelter voucher, or staying with a family member temporarily. "Other destinations," would include situations where data could not be collected or the individual is now deceased. "Institutional settings" are hospitals, residential non-psychiatric medical facilities, long-term care facilities or nursing homes. Lastly, "permanent destinations" are successful rentals through the "Rapid Rehousing" program or equivalent subsidy, and living with family.
